How it works
A letter, a parcel, then the sewing.
There is no basket and no payment page yet. You write first. If the work is a fit, you post the clothes to Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The finished piece posts back anywhere in the UK.
1. Write
Use the enquire page or message me on Facebook. Say who the clothes belonged to, who the piece is for, and whether you want a bear, a dog, an elephant or a rabbit. Mention anything you hope I can keep.
2. Send the clothes
Post the clothes or leftover fabric to Shepton Mallet or arrange for collection / drop off. Wash them as you normally would. You do not need to unpick anything. If a stain or a mend matters, say so. I will work around it or keep it, whichever you prefer.
3. I make the piece
Pattern, cut, sew, stuff, face. The original garment decides a lot of the look. That is why a bear from a suit looks like a suit, and a bear from a hoodie still has the zip.
4. It is posted back / collected
Posted UK-wide or collected from Shepton Mallet, packed so it arrives ready to sit on a shelf or be given to someone. If you asked for leftover cloth, that comes too.
What I make
Bears, sausage dogs, and the odd elephant or rabbit.
Most people ask for a bear. The dachshunds are for families who want something longer and a bit comic. The elephant and the rabbit in the gallery both started as school jumpers.
