How it works
A letter, a parcel, then the sewing.
There is no basket and no payment page yet. You write first. If the work is a fit, you post the clothes to Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The finished piece posts back anywhere in the UK.
1. Write
Use the enquire page. Say who the clothes belonged to, who the piece is for, and whether you want a bear, a dog or an elephant. Mention anything you hope she can keep.
2. Send the clothes
Post the clothes or leftover fabric to Shepton Mallet. Wash them as you normally would. You do not need to unpick anything. If a stain or a mend matters, say so. She will work around it or keep it, whichever you prefer.
3. She makes the piece
Pattern, cut, sew, stuff, face. The original garment decides a lot of the look. That is why a bear from a suit looks like a suit, and a bear from a hoodie still has the zip.
4. It is posted back
Posted UK-wide, packed so it arrives ready to sit on a shelf or be given to someone. If you asked for leftover cloth, that comes too.
What she makes
Bears, sausage dogs, and the odd elephant.
Most people ask for a bear. The dachshunds are for families who want something longer and a bit comic. The elephant in the gallery started as a school jumper.
